UAE Visit Visa Updates:2023

GDFRA DUBAI UAE

UAE has introduced changed to Visit Visa in 2023.

UAE Visit Visa Extension from 2023

The UAE has implemented a new rule that allows travelers with 90-day visit visas to extend their stay for up to 90 more days with a one-time 30-day visa extension. However, those who want to extend their visit visas must now exit the UAE and reapply.

Previously relaxed visit visa extension rules related to COVID-19 have been canceled, and applications for extensions from inside the country are not accepted anymore. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security has not yet officially announced the updated visa extension rules.

UAE Visit Visa Overstay Rules in 2023

Foreign citizens who have stayed beyond the expiration date of their visa in the UAE are required to obtain an out pass or a leave permit before departing from the country. The out pass can be acquired at the airport, immigration offices located at land borders, or the Al Awir Immigration office, and a fee of AED 200 to 300 will be charged for the same.

Moreover, overstayers must pay the complete overstay fines of AED 50 per day. However, visit visa holders have a grace period of 10 days to leave the country without incurring overstay fines. If visitors are unable to leave due to airport closures or flight cancellations, they will not be charged fines for overstaying.

The UAE has announced new regulations that require visitors who have overstayed their entry permits or tourist visas to pay applicable fines and obtain an out pass or leave permit before leaving the country. This new rule has been confirmed by a customer service representative at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai, as well as various Emirati travel agencies.

To obtain an out pass or leave permit, travelers can visit the airport, immigration offices located at land borders, or the Al Awir Immigration office. The cost of obtaining a Dubai/UAE out pass or leave permit is reported to be AED 200-300.

Overstayers will also have to pay the full overstay fines, which are levied at AED 50 per day of overstay. However, visitors holding a UAE visit visa will be granted a grace period of 10 days from the visa expiry date before overstay fines begin to accrue.

It’s important to note that visitors who are unable to leave the country due to airport closures or flight cancellations will not be charged overstay fines.

UAE Visit Visa Price Changes 2023

As per a customer care agent at the ICP, the fee for all visas issued by the UAE and Dubai, including the 30 and 60-day tourist visas, has gone up by AED 100. This means that the cost of a one-month visit visa, which was earlier AED 270, has now increased to AED 370.

UAE Visit Visa If Issued but Not Used.

Visitors to the UAE who possess a visit visa but fail to enter the country within the designated time frame (e.g., 30 days for a 30-day visit visa) are required to cancel their visa by paying a fee. The cancellation fee for an unused visa varies but can be as high as AED 300. Alternatively, travelers can extend their entry into the country by two months by paying AED 200.
